Sold per metre, specifically designed by 3M for use in marine applications, SOLAS (Safety Of Life?At Sea) grade Scotchlite was originally intended for life support equipment (life vests, life rings, jackets and rafts) which could be illuminated by a search spotlight.

But SOLAS is also great for bike forks or wheel rims - which are prone to get very wet and muddy!

With a pressure apply to fabrics (nylon, polyester, cotton) and practically any other surface (bags etc).

SOLAS is highly visible to tired inattentive motorists. Vehicle headlights shining on the silver SOLAS tape will reflect brilliantly white at a great distance.

Technical

SOLAS Grade 3155 is a silver, flexible retro reflective material with a pressure sensitive adhesive that will adhere to a wide variety of surfaces. Excellent adhesion can be expected with rubber film (coarse surface), polyurethane film, glass reinforced polyester, PVC film, aluminium, polyester fabric, rubber coated cloth and nylon. SOLAS grade have an encapsulated lens design for high reflectivity over a wide range of entrance angles, whether dry or wet. They meet IMO and US Coast Guard standards as well as the requirements of Marine Equipment Directive 96/98/EC.
